Luggage space in NC mx5
Discussion
A mate and I have 10 days in New Zealand (south island) in jan and I've been looking for something a bit more interesting than a focus or similar. It turns out that it's almost impossible to hire a boxster or similar but I've found a chap with a NC sport for a reasonable sum of money. My only concern if the 2 of us will be able to fit a months worth of luggage (also spending time in Oz) for both of us in the boot of this thing (also including some camera equipment).
My gut feel is that if I arrange to leave suitcases with matey renting the car, and take a bunch of small soft luggage we can pack into squishy bags and fit in with no probs. but never having driven a NC I don't know for certain!
I could go to my local Mazda dealer, but don't want to waste a salesmans time if there's no chance at all.
So, at this point, I wonder if the PH MX5 fellas have any pearls of wisdom?

I don't think you will get 2 cases in the boot of the MX5. Unless they are both max hand luggage size or smaller. You might get all the stuff in by just tipping it in/soft bags. But even that might be a bit tight. So I think your plan to leave a lot of your "stuff" somewhere and take what you need for the duration of the rental is more appropriate.
Or see if you can rent a soft top M3, or a Holden V8 or something like that.

Is it worth buying a Bootbag before leaving and using as a case to take luggage over? It can then be used for its proper use over there.
As in boot-bag.com?The only downside to that is that it then makes it hard to leave the car for any length of time unless you're at a hotel.
