Hi the other day I was changing my font drop links and realised my anti roll bar seemed very slack and generally warn out so I think I'm going to change it but was wondering weather I should go for a stiffer after market replacement or a standed replacement ? .

I am fitting a stiffer slightly lower suspention set up quite soon incase that changes anythink ? .

Thanks guys.

Stay standard. If the suspension will be lowered then adjustable drop-links would be ideal but not essential.

Try new anti roll bar bushes and drop links first.

I've heard a lot of people saying that the standard arb's are not stiff enough so if you're planning on driving it hard then it might be worth doing.

Also I changed my drop link bushes to poly ones and didn't notice a difference.

Depends on who you talk to, SportDrive recommend OEM ARB's.

Stiffer ARB's will increase response, but reduce ultimate grip. They also introduce bad car behaviour when only one wheel hits a bump, and reduce the independence of the suspension.

They're not ideal. But they are cheap...

They are just a band-aid to patch up a problem with the suspension. A good setup wouldn't need it.

Lazza's correct ^.
In fact the thinner the anti-roll the better.
Thick ones mask basic faults with the suspension set-up.
Mine has thick, after-market ARB's and I'm seriously thinking about reverting to an OEM to allow the MeisterR's to do an even better job than they're already doing.
Cheers, Pewe.

Does anyone with uprated suspension run without either bar connected/fitted?

My calcs say that SportDrive spring rates should be enough to reduce body roll by 50% from stock even with no sway bars.

Anyone running with cheap coilovers with their pointless stiff springs probably wouldn't even notice if the bars were there?
