quotequote all
Copied in General Gassing too

Hi guys,
Looking to Insure My Mk1 Mx5 and have recieved a reasonable quote from Performance Direct.
On my policy I need to be allowed to drive other vehicles 3rd Party with Owners permission. I'm not looking to get around anything but I have a disabled mother who is cared for by my dad, occasionally to help him I go along with them shopping or hospital appointments etc and it is very handy if I can drive his car. Adding me as a named driver to his policy for only really occasional use is prohibitively expensive.

On the policy summary it states that it is at the underwriters discretion to include this and will be on the certificate of motor Insurance when you've purchased the policy. The underwriters being Highway in this instance. (Part of LV)

No one at performance direct can tell me if "driving other vehicles' is included and Highway just tell me to speak to the broker??
I could just go ahead and pay, wait to see certificate and cancel if its not on there but even within the "14 day cooling off" period I'd be charged pro rata for cover ( fair enough) plus £55!!!! Admin fee! So that's not happening.

Anyone with these guys know if they do state on the certificate whether or not Driving other vehicles is included please?

Thanks
