If anyone has a smashed (from the rear) or a rotten mk2 they want rid of I'm after a few bits for mine, I'm actually aiming ultimately to shove a mk2.5 front end, rear lights and dials in mine, but the main job right now is to find a straight front panel to weld on to my car which had a light front end bump before I got it, which due to the rotten chassis legs moved the front around more than it needed to.

So if anyone has a straight front end (no matter how rotten) I can pull the repair panels I need off it. More than happy to buy a complete MOT failure and drag it away. It's going to be a big job including a full respray anyway.

As close to EastYorks as possible but will travel happily for the right parts/price.

I know a guy with a mk2 that suffered bottom end failure. In Leicestershire.

If that's not too far, pm me your details and I will send them over to him!

Front end moved around due to rotten chassis rails? No offence, but it doesn't sound savable.

None taken, but it is. It's just a lot less work to start with a front panel the correct shape than one that's been bent, of course if this shell that might have come up is a goodun then it will be even easier to build my good bits in to it. But there is nothing scary about the front chassis rails on these cars, it isn't a small job to weld up granted but in many ways it's a lot easier than the sills (but the issue being most people bodge the sills by covering the rust up either with filler or new metal, in both cases trapping the rot inside to destroy the shell).

Have a word with Mike over at Roadrunner Racing (Brough). He is always scrapping cars for SR2 builds.

Wow 2 incredibly useful posts right next to each other!

Roddo, I'm going to give the chap at roadrunner a buzz first as he's just down the road, but if no go I'll take you up on that very kind offer, do you have any other bits for sale? I'm after a set of the 5 spoke enkei wheels and Bilstein shocks plus some mk2.5 bits.

I thought mk2 & 2.5 were the same and it was the lights & front bumper that were different.

The main differences and bits I'm after are the headlights and front bumper, rear lights and instruments. Not really bothered about the other differences, and the main motivation is I need to replace most of those bits anyway.
