Hi all, some thoughts please from the all knowing ones on here. I have a 58 plate 2lt hard top mX5, two owners from new and always kept in a garage and does not go out in the wet very often, cared for and polished to within an inch of its life,
looks as if its just come out of a showroom. Mileage 27k
My question is about six weeks ago I had to have a new brake calliper on the drivers side ( sticking and piston problems) this is now fixed with a new unit at a cost of £250. I now have the same problem on the other side! is this rare with MXs, or do they all do that?? and what else do I need to be aware of?

Thanks, yours now £500 lighter.

Mazda brake callipers are notoriously crap. The other thing to watch out for is rust, on the mk3s it seems to be the window pillars. Mazda wheels are rubbish too, I had to get mine replaced after 18 months as they were bubbling up.

I had a similar problem with my early MK 3. The guy I use toservice my car had the unit re-built by a specialist in Northampton. Total cost was less than £100.

If you're referring to the rear brakes, yes there is a problem. I don't have any first-hand knowledge but I have read of problems.
