I have a Mk3.5 with the 2.0 engine. I know that the car will run on both normal or super unleaded. Is it worthwhile paying the extra for super? Is there any difference in power or mpg with the higher octane rating?

I doubt it. It's hardly a highly strung performance engine. Put the cheap stuff in it and spend the money you'll save on some go faster bits.

You will be a long while saving up the difference for anything?

I use the super as the car runs better.

I run my car on 95 because it's cheaper, it keeps it the same as my other cars and it's (normally) available at every petrol station.

However, when comparing similar cars, I've seen the extra power that 97 provides. Whether you go 95 is 97 is your choice.

It'll be a marginal difference. Being a modern car with an adaptive ecu it will give a small improvement but it'll probably be more of an improvement in emissions than power so I wouldn't expect any more than 1bhp difference. Personally I wouldn't bother.
