Top ball joints

V8 Roadsters in the US do a replacement ball joint http://www.v8roadsters.com/category-s/104.htm. You'd need access to a press to fit them.
However, a good second hand pair of upper wishbones from Autolink or Junk Yard Dog on MX5Nutz may be a better option. For example: http://www.autolinkmx5.com/wishbone-mx-5-mk1-front...
You can replace the rubber dust boots on the upper ball joints (there have been a few reports of MOT failures on these) if the ball joints themselves are OK. http://www.autolinkmx5.com/ball-joint-rubber-dust-...
