Hi all, after every opportunity for roof down action, winter is rapidly approaching.
So, how much did you pay for your hardtop from the Ebay? and was it really worth it?.
I have a lovely mohair roof, but the seals leak like a bh.
So its either £150 ish for a new set of seals, or roughly how much for a hardtop?
Thanks.

I've obviously looked there and they range from £250 to £550 on completed items.
Just wondering how well others have done? I mean, the cars only worth 1k as it is.

As a general rule-

200 to 250 would be considered cheap (condition will reflect this)

350 to 450 for a decent one

My aftermarket, not particularly well painted but nicely sealed roof cost me 250. I reckoned that was pretty decent. It makes a hell of a difference to comfort levels if you do the daily grind although it really made me wish I'd bought a car with ac!

This!

We got one with the wifes car. The paint is unblemished and matched, the headlining material is undamaged, the seals are good, all the catches work and are present and the rear heated window works.

I happilly factored an extra £500 as part of the purchase price when I compared the base car to other I looked at.

Two snowy winters later, and im glad we did.

The only downside is that any summer visitors to the house have to live with it sitting in the guest room as MY CAR lives the garage.

Is eBay the best place for selling?

I've had a hardtop sat in the garage since we sold ours over a year ago and forgot about it til I just popped in here smile
Does anyone know the likelihood of a hardtop on a MK1 fitting all Mk's as most eBay descriptions seem to label so

I think Mk1 will also fit a Mk2 but not a Mk3. I would suggest selling it on mx5nutz.

I sold mine a few weeks back for £400. It was listed on ebay for about 2 hours.

For reference mine was silver, genuine mazda with glass heated screen and storage bag, in mint condition. No pig tail though - home made wire. Pretty much got back what i paid over 3 years ago.

Have to say though it was only on the car twice and since i have a different colour on the car now seemed pointless tying up space in my shed!
