Upgrading Suspension
Discussion
I'm looking at upgrading the suspensing and lowering the car car by about 20mm.
Has anyone tried these.. http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info.php/product...

I think for not a huge amount more you could go for coilovers,

I got those Koni's a few months ago and I have to say I'm quite impressed. They're not too stiff and don't give a really harsh ride. but they are certainly much better than the standard ones, and do drop the height a little to make it look much nicer. I've not got any photos of mine just now, but I'll try and get some post them up.
Make sure you allow some budget for a full alignment afterwards too.
I changed my Bilstein suspension to the Koni sports (after an MOT fail) and it made the car feel very soft and woolly. It was absolutely pin-sharp before with a rock hard ride. After fitting the Konis it was the exact opposite - smooth ride but it had lost that pointy nose feeling.
I think it's because it significantly changed the stance of the car, which in turn affected the suspension geometry.
