Hello all, my Speedo's been working fine for the last 2 weeks since I bought the car but today it's strted toing what I can only describe as the opposite of a sliping clutch (the clutch is new by the way) I brake, say from 60 to 30 and the car slows down, the revs drop and the speedo stays near 60 then slowly makes its way down to the proper speed.
Any ideas?

That's an odd one. Dodgy cable must be ruled out as it would not work at all?

It can only be something in the mechanism?

I took one apart to fit a face plate (and might have knocked out the speed restricting pin too wink), but that was years ago, I can't honestly remember how it was put together.

Shouldn't be hard to get a replacement speedo though, and they're quick/easy to fit.

Sounds to me like the speedo face is fouling the needle. Has it had a new speedo dial face? i.e. is it a JDM import with an mph dial face fitted? If so there is a good chance the needle has been pushed on too far or the dial face hasn't been fitted flat enough.
