On average how long do you expect a set of rear pads to last?

Changed mine last Feb at 111000KM now 16000km later they are absolutly shagged.

No track use, only road, driven slightly enthusiastically wink and at least 4000km was motorway driving - so very little brake use.

Sounds way to fast to me! Could your rear brakes be binding? Its a common problem.

My previous MX5 I never had to change the pads at all, unsure how long they'd been in when I bought it but I put 20,000 hard Km and 3 trackdays on it and the pads still had plenty of meat left when I sold it.

Depends on the pads; some brands wear much faster than others.

I did have one mishap actually - i drove far enough with a rea stuck on. Which will probabaly explain it.
Anyway for replacements are these EBC Ultimax suitable?

+1

might try the yellowstuff at somepoint but certainly nothing lesser in the ebc range of mushy organic'ness

i love the 1144's i have on at the mo, super sharp braking from cold and remain perfectly consistent and stable in feel with no compressible feeling in the pad material. downsides are: tons of brake dust everywhere, and £60 front set and £100 rear set for an early 1600

if i'd have realised costs i'd have gone with mazda pads since from everyones opinion they aren't lacking in any areas at all

yep, i've yet to try anything better than M1144's but the rears are simply way too expensive compared to axxiss ultimates which offer 95% of the performance for about half the price. (fronts are quite similarly priced tho)
