Brecons Run - 10/11th September
Discussion
After last years run out with 10 of us MX5s around the Brecons being one of the best driving days I've ever been on so far, I think we should do it again.
Last time was a long, long day of driving though so would people be up for either a shorter route or an overnight stay somewhere over there so we can do two days worth of driving?
I'd be looking at it being around June/July time at the moment, but if we will be doing overnight best to find somewhere to stay as soon as we know when we'll be going.
So, anyone up for it?

Ah, you're organising this one Jonny? Good stuff. Count me in but there are some dates I can't make, I'm in Cyprus start of June. Also have a wedding in July.
Why not dig out the old thread and copy and paste the date thing?
I can't do a route because, well, the only time I've been is the last run and still don't know any of the roads there. I'd like to do Black Mountain road, and most of the others we done before too.Why not dig out the old thread and copy and paste the date thing?
I'm more than happy to organise dates/accomodation etc

Yes i'dd be up for it. I like the idea of the overnighter because thats when the bonding happens. I enjoy a good bit of bonding. I'm more than happy to organise dates/accomodation etc

I think after last time some people were keen to try and do two days of driving, so I was thinking along the lines of South Wales/Brecons on Day 1, overnight stop somewhere mid-Wales-ish then do the Evo Triangle and some other decent roads on the Sunday? Maybe then whoever wants to do the weekend can do the weekend, and others can cherry pick Sat/Sun depending on what's convenient for them?

But we CAN still "bond" yeah?hornetrider said:

Excellent idea. And we have quite a few Wales-er PH-ers.. So can link up a few different routes people suggest and see what we can come up with.I'd aim for 150-200 miles a day?
I think most of the people on the last run were based in Wales/North?

LOL.
Can we do that massively stupidly steep windy hill again, please?
I'd say not this time... it's picturesque where we stopped for photos and nice to see for sure, but we've done it now and it's a bit windy/offroad!! There's plenty more good roads in the area and it took some time to do that section - the main A road north from Llandovery which runs kinda parallel to that faster and very good with some nice open switchbacks. Can we do that massively stupidly steep windy hill again, please?

Are you talking about the Devil's Staircase/road around Llyn Brianne and to Abergwesyn? That's a fantastic bit of road
