Hi guys, just bought a 97 Camaro! Anyone have any suggestions to get Insurance? The places I usually use said they cant insure me since I have not driven a LHD car in the last 2 years! I have had a bloody Camaro and a Trans Am before! I'm 37 too.

Any suggestions?

Ours was insured by admiral, It was a EU one though and that can make a difference with some companies

Just about to start shopping around, but this years insurers for me were Classicline. Just had a renewal land on my door step and I'm not impressed with it so will be looking else were. But last year they insured me and I had no previous experience and was only 24.

Classicline for me - the downside or upside depending on your view is that it is a classic policy so NCB is neither earned nor lost. That means you hard won NCD can expire as most companies only recognise it for 2 years but Classsicline will preserve it and if you move will provide proof of it so to speak.

They have always been cheapest for me.

Aside from Flux, the other company is MCE.

I had the same with the Rumbler - not driven LHD for 18 months so they can't touch me!! WTF!!! fking pathetic! I ended up with Classicline who were superb - other than that buy Classic American in your local newsagents for a good half-dozen or so advertising in there

Subject to them going ahead with what they said on the phone, my renewal came through today from Classicline and it hadn't dropped since last year. Gave a few firms a phone call and Adrian Flux came back at £200 cheaper. Rang Classicline back and they said if I email them a copy of the quotation and its like for like (which is it) they'll match it for me. I'd rather stick with them, than go to Adrian Flux thats for sure!

I used Adrian Flux. I don't think the rate I have is particularly good but it was convenient and not too much hassle. I think next year I will look around some more. Congrats on the new car by the way!!!!
