I watched the first series and really enjoyed that, the seconded series has just started.
The series is set in 1971 I think, and they do a lot of out door shoots with plenty of period correct cars on set.
Not your show type muscle cars, just every day 4 door sedans and pickups common to the era and location. This got me thinking, after almost 55 years do they struggle to find cars like this for film work even in America ? Its not just 1 or 2 cars on set, but you can see dozens in certain shots. (Like the car park of the shopping Mall)

Obviously 2 door cars, convertibles and muscle cars have been worth saving, but who's been looking after 4 door sedans all these years ?

It usually isn’t too much of a problem finding the basic cars for any show/movie. There are several companies that specialize in rental vehicles just for this purpose (https://inventory.cinemavehicles.com/).

If they need something specific, they will try and reach out to local or national car clubs to find an owner willing to rent his/her car.

I’ve got a 62 4 door Mercury, original paint, chrome and interior. The fact that half the country doesn’t salt their roads gives US cars a bit more of a chance than you get here.

If of interest, the Internet Movie Cars Database biggrin has the details, per series:

Not to be confused with IMDB proper:
