What's the consensus on getting smears off watch glass etc...

Are glass cleaners safe or better to stick to a glass / mf cloth?

Satin or ribbed glass microfiber cloth are all you should need.

Not a great idea. Organic soaps can break down anti reflective coating, and I've been told that they can damage the seals on a watch, eventually affecting water resistance.

AR is applied to the inside of the lens or sometimes laminated between two lenses.
Not on all. My tag has a surface coating, as does my squale.

glass cleaners have strong alkalines in there. Not sure how well that plays with seals etc.

Gillette shaving foam , let it soak for a few minutes.

Body wash onto nail brush and scrub both sides of the bracelet.

Rinse under shower.

Dry with bath towel.

Yep, simple soap and water and a soft toothbrush or nail brush will do the trick.

I have an ultrasonic cleaner at work we use for cleaning equipment. I took the bracelet off my sea dweller a couple of years ago and treated it to a sonic bath It had never been cleaned other than with soap and water but the gunk that came out from between the links was disgusting!!! yum
