My wife bought me an F1 for our wedding day, so I'm sentimentally attached to it.

Due to most likely a dodgy battery change, the movement as gone (I wore it swimming in the sea on an almost daily basis) and I'm struggling to find anywhere to repair it, that isn't charging an absolute fortune - the local dealer basically told me not to bother.

Any tips from the community on where to go? It was always a decent watch given I could wear it anywhere!

Here's the item in question.... thanks in advance.

Joe (Variomatic) hasn't posted here for ages, and isn't prompt with email. That said, people still regularly say good stuff about service they're getting from him.
You need to ring the Anglesea Watch Company and say that he was recommended via PH.

I'm reliably informed (by a watch collector) that these guys are good:

Maybe give them a call?

Have you tried going to Tag UK directly? You can call them on 01204 861168 where I'm sure they'd price that for you, or go to their service page: http://customer-service.tagheuer.com/en-gb/home

Just to wrap this up, got my watch back from Joe one week after sending it - I was impressed how quickly he turned it around!

Even better, when I spoke to him on the phone he quoted me a price. Once he received the watch, he called me back to say the actual movement I needed was cheaper than he thought and it would be 30% less expensive for the repair.

The watch came back today looking lovely, including the broken movement he had removed.

I would recommend his service to anyone. First class.
