Max Bill has arrived
Discussion
I’ve been looking at these for a while and finally decided to get one. It arrived today. I love the classiness and simplicity of it. The convex crystal gives a nice effect as well I think. I’d read that the automatic movement was noisy and it is but that just adds to the appeal. “Living jewelery” and all that.

They are beautiful watches so clean and surgical looking, but beware I had mine all of two weeks and caught it and scratched the crystal. The one thing with these is you cannot get the scratches out as it has a hard coating which does not allow repair. The easiest way is to speak to Jura watches who will order you a new crystal and fit it for £60

I really want one of theses but have been put off by thinking they didn’t have a crystal glass, an I wrong? I’m far too clumsy to have a non crystal glass...
It's a domed "plexi-crystal" coated with Sicralan, a special coating that apparently is unique to Junghans for watch crystals but can be found on some automotive glass. They claim that it helps with scratch resistance. glazbagun said:
Love these. Is there an unhardened equivelant crystal that could be stockpiled cheaply?
I enquired with Cousins and they had no equivalent, so if Cousins don’t have it I doubt yo would get on in the UK. I had a few quotes for my exchange most of them over £120 and the watch away for five weeks. Jura did in the end £38 for the glass £22 fitting
