I have a vintage SM300 which I am looking to sell.

As I'm a private seller and have no box/paperwork I'm thinking of sending the watch off to a trusted specialist for a service and some kind of confirmation that it is the real deal - thinking this will help me sell the watch.

If anyone could give me a recommendation for a specialist who can service the watch and provide some sort of statement of authenticity for the next owner, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If you are looking to sell, I would be inclined to send it to STS that will give any buyer confidence it’s the real deal. I think they will also do a good sympathetic job a and not ruin it.

The values for these are all over the place, some seem to get huge prices... others a lot less.

Is it definitely an original or a Watchco example? (made from new old stock parts)

What proof of authenticity did you get when you bought it?

Thanks. Yes, I had noticed a few at ridiculous prices but they seem to hang around a while!

It's definitely not a Watchco example. All parts appear equally aged.
No proof of authenticity unfortunately, I bought it from a trader via one of the big watch forums and was told it had one previous owner and was all original, never even polished. Looks to be true to my untrained eye (and I've compared it to various fake-spotting guides) but hoping that STS, or another specialist, can put any potential buyers' minds at rest.

I would try simon freese watchmakers at simonfreesewatchmakers.com

They sent me a small box and instructions on what details they want from you eg service whatever

They then emailed me within 2 days saying how much it would cost £252 for a full service on a vintage Omega that Omega said couldn't be repaired. (It required a new stem and cleaning!)

I got the watch back inside a month, looking great with a newly polished crystal, and 18 month warrenty

If you call them they are very helpful. The £252 included postage both ways

I will use again

cheers
