I am in the Big Apple for a long weekend early May, any recommendations for shopping for used IWC/Rolex/Panerai ? Looking at Crown and Caliber now, any others I should be wandering by?

Many thanks

There's a Rolex boutique on 5th Avenue near 53rd and while they generally have a lot of stock in its unlikely they'll have any/many desirable models available. The other thing is the exchange rate's not brilliant and prices aren't as competitive as they once were once you factor in sales tax.

For Panarai there's a boutique on Maddison and 63rd but they're not my thing so never really looked that hard at them.

Good luck with your search.

Went into Tiffany's a few years ago and they had a cabinet of Patek Phillippes where the prices were all in the millions and given in the format 1,7 or 2,4 etc, presumably to save the customer getting confused over the sheer volume of zeros they would need. Funnily enough I resisted the temptations, but it was fun to see.

It is a full Patek AD on the mezzanine in there and they carry the full range (with the usual ridiculous waiting lists for some models) with the Tiffany stamp option on the dial.
No discounts whatsoever- list price only.

I stayed at The Edison hotel, W47th, off Broadway, the first time that I went to NYC, there were so many jewellery stores in that area, but spelt jewelry, the U.S. way, that it made Hatton Garden look like an afterthought.

Coincidentally have a family member doing a road trip across USA starting in NY in May and one of the objectives is to visit Rolex ADs to see what might be worth picking up and bringing home.

Gemnation are based in Brooklyn

I've dealt with them a couple of years ago (internet/email/phone, not in person) and got an incredible deal on a Bremont. Couldn't fault their service, and they have a pretty massive selection, right up to Greubel Forsey quadruple tourbillons....
