Something to match her Lady Date?
Discussion
Some years ago when Mrs OMITN received her PhD she bought herself a Rolex Lady Date (28mm). She doesn't wear lots of jewellery, and this has been the one constant (that and it's larger than earrings, so more difficult to lose).
A week ago she received notification that she has received a very significant promotion at work - literally a lifetime's ambition. So, we were chatting about how to mark it, and she mentioned she might like another watch.
She's timed this very badly - she also has a significant birthday this year (I've got another gift in mind for that), and I've just poured some rather large sums into a total renovation/extension of our home.
So, what to buy? She loves her Rolex, and in many ways it's the epitome of do everything - jeans to ballgown. She's also very petite, so anything "mansized" is definitely out.
I rather like the look of the new Tudor BB 32 (blue face). Other options? We'll leave budget out for now, but preferably no more than £5k. I suspect she'd like new, but s/h always worth considering.
Thoughts?

Left of field suggestion and I know you say your partner has dainty wrists, but how about an aluminum Bvlgari Diagono chronograph. My wife has very slim wrists and always went for Cartier until one day I bought her the 38 mm version of the Bvlgari and it became the only thing she wore. It's nowhere near as robust as a Rolex as aluminum isn't as tough as steel, but it has a certain style and appeal that some people just fall for.

Nomos has some very fine watches in a completely different style. Also some very slim and small watches.
Big selection here:

The ones I would get for the wife:

If you want chic and understated elegance there’s nothing to beat a JLC Reverso imho.
Some of the smaller models are quartz. Avoid those.
I bought Mrs C one for a significant birthday and she loves it so much I have to persuade her to take it off when gardening.
They look much better in the flesh than in pictures - it’s the way light reflects off the angles of the case

Thanks all.
So, she likes the look of a Reverso - then I clicked that the smallest is quartz. If I’m paying thatcsirt of money for quartz it will be a Grand Seiko....
She doesn’t like any Cartier’s.
I’ll float Nomos with her.
As for size - she’s very petite (under 5’ tall). For a laugh she tried on my GS Snowflake last night: looked like thecwatch equivalent of clown shoes..!

Only some are quartz, does she care if it’s a quartz. Is she interested in the movement of her Rolex? So, she likes the look of a Reverso - then I clicked that the smallest is quartz. If I’m paying thatcsirt of money for quartz it will be a Grand Seiko....
You might be attaching your own biases to something which isn’t actually for you.
She likes a reverso but you’ve decided the movement isn’t good enough.

It’s a fair point El Stovey - and ultimately something that I wouldn’t get in the way or her choice.
I suppose my bias is a case of “Hiw much for a quartz movement?” (But equally that brings us back into the realm of “value” of luxury watches anyway).
Or handbags or shoes or any luxury goods. I suppose my bias is a case of “Hiw much for a quartz movement?” (But equally that brings us back into the realm of “value” of luxury watches anyway).

Reversos are iconic watches though and not just a fleeting fashion at least.
A rather left-field suggestion from me here.....
I have given my mrs some lovely watches over the years, but the absolute 'bulls-eye' that she NEVER takes off her wrist, ever, is a white ceramic Chanel J12. She loves it.
I have some nice watches, so I'm not going to get into jewellery/quartz debates, other than to say she adores this watch. She has no interest in movement quality etc.
She's had it a few years, never had a problem with it, looks as new as the day it was bought.

That's a pity as I would always recommend the lady's tank watch:https://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Cartier-Tank-Louis-wa..._adty__pla___prch__online___stco_____prid17310091,utm_medium:cpc&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6_WI7dOM2wIVDkMYCh04GArlEAQYAyABEgIBZfD_BwE
I bought my wife this many years ago and it is almost never off her wrist. It's the "little black dress" of watches.
If you want to go left field, I quite like the Mont Blanc range:

Good choice; different look and colours to the Rolex, so something completely different, which is what a second watch ought to be.Thanks all.
The Chanel is interesting - sufficiently different in style from her Rolex. Again feels pricy for a quartz movement (my prejudice again!). Will see what she thinks.
Hadn't thought of Montblanc - again, I'll see what she thinks of them. I rather like the look of the Boheme range.
Not sure about another Rolex -variety is the spice of life (says the man with Seikos/Grand Seikos....
)
Cheers.
