Help / Info on an old watch
Discussion
Hi
Last time I had a query on an old watch I got some really useful help from here so hoping you guys can help me out again
I've been given my Great Uncles watch as my family know I like this kinda thing. Pic below, this is the wording on the dial
Royle
Swiss
Automatic
25 Rubis ( I am guessing this means Jewel"
Incabloc
Its not massive by modern standards, I say about 30mm case diameter
It runs and appears to keep time OK
If anybody can give me any info on it I'd appreciate it, I didn't turn up my with my google search although there was one the same listed on ebay the listing didn't have much detail either

The style of the watch puts it in the early 70's.
My guess is that you'll find an ETA 2783 inside.
It's a decent enough movement, but I'm afraid Royle aren't haute horology. ETA movments are sold in various grades, the watch I linked above appears to have the lowest grade (movement in that one may have been replaced, it's an auto movement, but the word "Automatic" is missing from the dial.)
So I'm sorry to say that you have not inherited something you can sell and retire on the proceeds. But that isn't a comment on the watch's value to you. Enjoy it in good health.
