I’m 6mts away from being able to fulfil an ambition but torn between two pieces, so which would you choose (alternatives happily considered)

The AP is stunning, but the bracelet looks about £2.50 worth from the market (clasp excluded).

Have you tried an Everrose Daytona on? It looks awful in the flesh, I can’t find a photo of the one I tried but it really isn’t a pretty thing, yellow gold was much nicer.

Pay over the odds for a SS Daytona or go for a Yellow gold / Green face smile

Have you looked at a Rolex Skydweller? Stunning.

Bailed out of a Hulk, Bi-Metal GMT-II & SS Daytona (white face) earlier in the year, ready for something new/different.

Came very close to the Everose Daytona on the Croc/alligator? Black Leather strap two years ago. That’s the one I should have bought, not so keen on the revised version with the rubber strap.

Do you manage a football team, if so grab the AP... If you own a football team then the Rolex..

Neither float my boat, too up in your face for me, but luckily we’re all different.. Enjoy and wear whichever you go for..

Neither of them for me. They're 'statement' pieces, and not always a good statement IMHO.

At that price point, I'd be looking at a Lange or PP Calatrava.

Whilst i entirely agree about the A. Lange in theory, i note that both of the OPs original considerations are chronographs. Setting aside the double/triple split from A. Lange, their 'standard' 1815 Chronograph is around twice the price:

Very nice but outside my budget, and I’d rather the Rosegold Daytona if I’m going Rolex.

Of the two you’ve indicated, the AP ROOC would be the one to opt for, even ignoring the likely 20% discount you can negotiate on Rolex PMs.
That said, what’s your reasoning behind both? Is it residual value or signalling to others?
If we assume for one moment that spending £25K is a demonstaration of interest and passion for haute hologerie, then the Rolex is out, and the AP is somewhat lacking, to a degree.
On that basis, and given the indicated budget, then I’d propose one of the following instead...

Glashutte Original
Blancpain L Evolution
Chopard L.U.C.

Everose Daytona is a beautiful watch , slightly more delicate looking than the Ap. Both will hold their value. Daytona is a classic. Personally i would go for a steel Daytona.

Sure you've got the right word there? The AP would never be described as delicate, even when comparing it.

Brutal, is more fitting.

On principle I wouldn't go with a Rolex.
The way they manipulate the market turns me off the brand completely.
I'm also not a fan of the way that the seem to be the go to watch for the 'Nouveau Riche' and as a result (IMHO) become a bit crass.
Pity as they are decent enough watches. I just don't subscribe to all the hype. You only have to look on this forum to see how ubiquitous they are - around 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 posts deals with Rolex - more than for Seiko!

I'd much prefer almost anything else as it demonstrates at least a little bit of original thinking.
Patek/Breguet/Lange/Blancpain/Chopard/AP or even Omega would all be higher on my list.
