Just had my first watch bought for me by my girlfriend a black and red Weird Ape Kolt and I love it, never been one for jewellery or watches but I now feel quite naked without it.
Can anyone recommend any other UK based watch companies that wont break the bank, I can see this becoming a new hobby (if funds allow)
Also is anyone else into the Weird Ape watches or are they a bit cheap for this forum? I know literally zero about watches

1) Never heard of them
2) No watch is too cheap for this forum
3) Get into watches, and stay there.
I hadn't heard of them until she bought me one, admittedly I was trying to remember the brand gorilla watches that I'd seen on a youtube video however these turned out considerably cheaper and a really nice surprise 2) No watch is too cheap for this forum

Not looked at PH for ages.... And just stumbled on this
I too have the Weird Ape watch mine is the all black one. I've had it since my wife gifted it to me at Christmas. Funny enough, I've been wearing the second half of this week. It keeps good time and looks a bit different, which is why I like it. It's looks a bit small on my wrist as most my watches are larger
I'm quite into watches and probably have far too many. You don't have to be into just the expensive stuff to enjoy watches. My collection ranges from cheap quartz watches up to some swiss stuff with anything in between. Each has a suitable time and place where I can wear it (see what I did there) For example, if I'm messing about under the car in the garage, I'm going to be wearing a cheap watch with a metal strap that I don't mind scratching.
To add to your collection without breaking the bank, and assuming you are not talking about quartz fashion watches, then I would suggest looking at some Seiko watches (on the net, most chains stock very few). There is also Tissot that have some nice watches in their range, obviously, their automatic watches are at the higher end of their range. Moving up the price range you have some nice watches offered by Oris and Raymond Weil

I have had some results buying unknown stuff on the Internet but its always a gamble. A lot of stuff is cheap s
te but I have had a few results; a very nice Russian watch and even a reasonably nice Chinese watch that's still keeping perfect time several years on. My advice would be to look around and don't forget your Tesco clubcard vouchers if you collect them. Gone are the days of 4 for 1 at Goldsmiths but they still take them

Weird Ape are awesome.
Im a big fan, having several.
He is about to release some new models into stockists, which are a bit pricier, but well worth the money.
If you are looking for a watch that is almost 100% made in Britain, mostly by hand (apart from the Movement, which is soon to be ETA) then you need to check out Glen Anthony Watches.
He makes the Cases, Bracelets & Bezels from scratch. But get this, He makes them to match your car!!!
Colour, Brake Discs, all of that.
Honestly, check him out.
