Hamilton Watches

What is the general opinion on hamilton watches?
I was considering a steinhart one 39 as I have small wrists but saw the following two hamilton options which grabbed my attention:

Hamilton are a decent company, with over 100 years of history of making good quality and innovative watches over the years. They are part of the Swatch group now, the same as Tissot, Longines, Omega etc. Out of these four they are supposedly on the lower end alongside Tissot, but still pretty good. The Hamilton will hold its value better.
People tend to love Steinhart or hate them. The Steinhart is the better dive watch, but if you're going to do proper diving then get a dive computer. If you want a watch that looks just like a Rolex Sub, then there are cheaper options. Whilst I have nothing against homages and I have a few myself, I would not have one that looks like the most well recognized watch in the world.

Decent watches. Also look at Christopher Ward and Magrette (available from Forasec).
I love my Magrettes - great quality and very reasonable pricing. The Moana Pacific Pros are rated to 500m if you were after a dive watch and the limited edition Kara is Titanium.

I wear the second one you posted on a daily basis and it is brilliant. Lume is poor and lacks decent water resistance, so wouldn’t swim in it, but apart from that it’s a great watch.
I like steinhart too but I’m not into homages as such, but I’m sure they’re good quality so you won’t go wrong with either.

Hamilton as a brand has been around for many years and has produced well regarded watches. Many with interesting history; usually military focused.
Like the vast majority of older brands, there have been corporate assumption into bigger conglomerates (capably described earlier). Inevitably, the corporate stuff will inform price point and market pitched for, but no reason I can see not to buy a Hamilton if it ticks the boxes otherwise.
