I spoke to the AP boutique in London this week about trying on a 15202 for size as I know the 15400 will be too big for me. No steel versions in stock and 3 year waiting list. They have a gold model in stock so i intend to try it on this week for size but 3 years on a 15202?? I know about waiting lists having waited long enough for my 5711R but trying to get a gauge on whether this is an over the phone brush off and if you show genuine intent the list becomes 12 months for example? Anyone else been quoted the same waiting time on one of these?
I too was a first time AP buyer this year. I wanted to try a few APs on for size and looks, specifically the Royal Oak offshore. I made an appointment at the London boutique tried on various and ended up loving the stainless sports Chrono. I was shown a white dial then the black dial and then lastly the blue dial which I purchased on the spot. I’d suggest make an appointment and show interest and then see if they will pull one out of the safe for you. They very much like welcoming new customers to their brand.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Thanks Cipo. I visited the AP Boutique this week. I tried on the 15202 in yellow gold, loved the size and overall fit but yellow gold is not for me so put on the list for a steel one. Interestingly, they still quoted a 3 year wait but suggested that may be improved based on what else I choose to buy in the meantime. Not really surprised, it's the way these things work when demand outstrips supply. I'm quite interested in the 15400 OR with the white face and leather strap so if I buy one maybe it'll speed things up a little. I doubt it'll be 3 years wait anyway, I waited less than 1 year for my PP 5711R. Time will tell.
Hi will77
I picked up my 15202 from AP recently and had been on the waiting list for a year. When I made enquiries last summer I was told that I’d likely receive a watch within six months, but it turned out to be much longer. It was getting to the point where I was considering buying something else but then got a call to say they had the watch. When I collected it they told me the waiting time is currently much longer (this certainly seems consistent with what I’ve read on other forums)
It’s a beautiful watch and I’m really glad that I waited - if you like the Jumbo then my advice would be to put your name on the list and be patient. You never know if something will come up sooner and when the call comes in, I can guarantee you’ll be glad you waited!
