Dominic Hackett

Another great selling experience with Dominic
As I couldn't justify keeping both, decided to sell my 12 month old SD43 when my Pepsi allocation arrived a few weeks ago - it is my new daily, replacing my old daily
I sold my previous daily, a kermit, to Dominic last year when my SD43 arrived so he was my first port of call this time round
Dominic is incredibly straightforward to deal with, we agreed a price, I sent the watch in the post and within an hour of it arriving with him, funds were in my account
Highly recommended
On a slight tangent, with regards to recent posts on buying to invest vs buying because you like, I'd say I fall in a middle camp. There are watches I prefer to Rolex and watches that are 'better' from a movement point of view. I don't buy Rolexes to make money. However knowing that if I ever want to get out of it, either to fund a replacement or because I just need cash, it is easy, quick and likely at the very least to not involve a loss, is a big factor in why I have moved away from other brands and would think very carefully before dropping big money on a non-Rolex watch.
Put simply, it's very easy for others to say 'buy what you like, it's not an investment' which to an extent I agree with, but given the choice, I'd prefer to 'buy what I like' knowing I'm unlikely to lose money than to 'buy what I like' and lose a huge percentage on day one

Take it that’s your SD he’s selling this morning?
Fairly sure that will be the one - it arrived with him this morning. Will make a great buy for someone - yes it is used, but has absolutely everything right down to the plain cardboard outer sleeve, original receipt, plastic bezel protector, swing tag, etc. Sorry to see it go but couldn't justify keeping that and the PepsiThe great thing for me is that having paid list for the Pepsi, I end up with money in my pocket and a replacement watch worth more than the SD. It is rather similar to the whole Porsche GT thing - once you're on the bandwagon it's great but if you're not, it's really sh**ty.
I have to assume the values of Pepsis will go down over the next year or two and I'm not sure what you can actually sell one for compared to the dealer asking prices of c £15k, but whatever happens, I can be fairly comfortable that if I ever want to sell I'll more than get my money back and in the meantime, I'm wearing a daily that I absolutely love
Going back to the Porsche analogy, as with a garage queen, the watch would be worth far more if I didn't ever wear it, but I'm convinced one reason the AD gave me an allocation, especially just a year after the SD, is that they know I wear the watches. If I didn't, I don't think I'd get the allocations

Funnily enough I’ve got a Pepsi on order and despite being a long term customer who has bought 6 from the same AD and between me and my wife still owns them , I’m getting messed about good and properly. The great thing for me is that having paid list for the Pepsi, I end up with money in my pocket and a replacement watch worth more than the SD. Asked to go into the branchand express an interest the day they were released at Basel , told I was the first one in , but wouldn’t put me on a non existent list.
They’ve now had four and I’m still waiting but allegedly I’ll get the next one .
Shocking service by the AD .
