Any recommendations for a GMT watch for around £1,000? Probably not 'Submariner' style due to ubiquity, and probably not a true 24 hour (Glycine) due to complexity.

Currently thinking Longines Conquest. I think the budget is a bit low for a Ball Engineer.

I had an Air Race a few years ago. Not sure why I didn't think of one this time...

Different style of GMT, with a separate sub-dial for time. Supports part-hour time differences.

It's a little Rolex explorer but pretty nice looking, and their watches are always good quality for the price.

Thank you smile

Lacroix - too dressy
C Ward. - too Rolex/Steinharty, and I don't like their new branding.

I suspect this will come down to the brand that fits the budget, and then whatever they have in their range.

I like the Alpina Alpiner 4, but it's a bit over budget.

I want to keep the spend low (ish) because i don't need a GMT, I just want something a little dressier than my other watches, but a little more interesting than a simple dress watch

Not everyone's taste in terms of brand, but Orient have many very attractive GMTs. Just very difficult to find a European distributor.

Yeah, I've done Orient before. Had an incredibly yellow Mako followed by a Dolphin that didn't work properly...

Glycine Airman? Or a Hamilton Jazzmaster GMT?

I'm not a fan of the Airman, but the Jazzmaster (not one of the triangular ones smile ) is a good shout.

How about this? Slightly over budget but these guys will discount if you ask nicely...

Or not a true GMT but still able to do dual timezones:

That's pretty tasty. If I could have that in blue or white, I'd consider stretching the budget. 25% is in bounds, isn't it? smile

Certainly worth asking. They gave me near 30% off my Bulova Lunarpilot in one of their sales (and there's an instant 5% on the website). Also negotiated 600 off another watch retailing at £2600 but opted not to just yet...
