I need some help please.
My son turns 13 next month he would like a watch. Not a wallet busting watch but a step up from a £20 Argos special.
He wants a ‘proper’ watch for his 21st and I’m looking forward to buying it for him - but we need something to get him through his school years.
I’m sure he will want to change it post 16.
He would like a bracelet style, blue/black face.
Mid-size - he only has small wrists.
I am thinking £100 ish ?
Any suggestions ? I seem to only be able to find Ben Sherman type watches. (Nothing against Ben Sherman......)
Thanks all.

Citizen Eco-Drive,

Quartz for accuracy & solar powered therefore not needing a battery every year, Usually super tough and plenty of styles / designs to choose from,

Just got my son a Seiko Solar (similar to Eco-Drive) … God awful Gold & Steel design but he love's it smile

You may need to adjust the budget from £100 to under £200 but still good value,

Spend some time with him choosing the design / style he likes smile

Seiko SKX or similar. Slight stretch from your budget but not much. Have a look at the Tobydeals site.

I would go for something like a Seiko 5 snk603. Very lovely watch. Bracelet isn't great but the watch itself is amazing for the price.

I bought my son a blue dial Seiko 5 and a nice leather strap from Amazon for his 13th (it came on a basic NATO). He still likes/wears it 4 years later although his Apple Watch gets most wrist time these days.

Top choice, hard to beat a Seiko 5 as an entry level automatic watch!

Get him an extra strap, the bracelet on those isn't great and that one looks very good on a brown leather strap for example:
