I bought the above watch new less than a year ago with no problems. I haven't used it for a month or 2 and went to set the date etc and it doesn't seem to have 2 clicks when you pull the crown out, only one to change the time. I took it back to where I bought it from and they said this is correct and to change the date I have to keep winding the time round which takes forever. Is this correct or are they pulling a fast one?

Can you advance the date more quickly by turning the crown clockwise past 1, then anti-clockwise back to 7, and then clockwise back to 1?

Thanks I'll give this a go. I was more bothered about finding out if the watch had broke or if it's okay as it doesn't have this function.

according to the following it's an ETA 7753 based movement, and presumably should therefore have the two click to get to quick date change function

edit: nice watch by the way

Thanks. I've just been onto live chat with Cartier and they said 'To set the date you require the corrector tool that is sold with the timepiece.
by pressing the push piece on the side of the watch case
This is the information given on the User Guide I referred you to earlier.

Oh I hate those things. I use a drawing pin to set the date on my PP annual calendar...white gold so one false move and it will be scratched. I love to live life on the edge.

I've never heard/seen these. Should I have received one when I bought the watch or are these extra?

Possibly, it's just a little indented button you have to press down. At least it is on mine. You probably have a nail shaped tool to press it with in the box.
