I stopped wearing "proper" watches a while ago when I bought an apple watch. I know, i know. hehe

Sold a Breitling Hercules and a Seamaster chrono but I'd bought a Monaco re-issue CS2111 a few years prior and loved it. I held onto it to use as a dress watch. However, it was running quite fast (a few minutes per hour) so i stopped using it.

I might sell it, do the ph watch gurus think it's worth getting it serviced (no idea what it will cost to fix the fast running) and sell it or just sell it as is, being honest with the advert of course??

Cheers
BvT

Straightforward service on one of those is £150.
If it just needs a regulation and is running perfectly other than that, then it would be £25.

Where would one be getting this done? I went to a well established jeweller in Aberdeen and was told it would have to be sent back to Tag Heuer for a service

I work with a guy who wears an apple watch on one wrist and whichever of his (very lovely) timepieces he feels like on t'other. AP, Patek, Panerai etc.

I'm not quite eccentric enough to do that

Running fast might even just be a magnetised mainspring (you can buy demagnitisers from ebay for a few quid - I had one watch which responded well to such an approach), but it's probably worth a service at that price if you're planning to sell.

Yep, Goldsmiths in Bath told me the same, ended up being away for nearly 3 months, cost me over £300 and fell apart in my hands when I went to collect it.... had to be sent back to Tag and was gone another 7 weeks!

It’s not eccentric at all. I wear my Apple Watch on my right wrist for notifications and health and a regular watch on my left wrist ... I know a few people who do this also - it’s not eccentric at all!

Well, I think a majority of people would beg to differ.

Doesn't your apple watch provide you with the time?!
Wearing 2 watches is very odd IMHO.

As a watchmaker, i sometimes wear my apple watch on my right wrist and my chosen watch for the day on my left.
Its quite a common sight I have noticed, as a lot of people have a lovely watch that they wouldn't go a day without, but also want a fitness tracker/smart type watch.

I would love someone to have had that conversation with Nicolas Hayek when he was alive.
He wore 4 watches on each wrist every day. lol

I do get it. Apple watch is great for msg notifications, reminders etc while in meetings and such like - saves you digging your phone out of your pocket or whatever. But it's not like wearing a nice watch where you can gaze at the oily-smooth sweep and fine attention to detail.

But it's eccentric, 100%! Not wrong or bad or evil or stupid. Just unusual.

I have been servicing Tag Heuer among many other brands for the last 22 years.

Message me for details if you are interested.
I'm happy to recommend Rigga's services, worked wonders on a 38 year old Omega of mine that was in dire need of sorting.

I don't no.
If you email me, I would be happy to answer any queries and the like.
Ive got a facebook page, but the longer i spend doing that, the less time i have to Service watches, so its just getting neglected. lol
