Hello all my current watch is a LONGINES LUNGO MARE bought in 2006 it’s a lovely watch & like the classic styling,I am in the market to buy another watch with between 2-3k to spend for the right one.

I quite like the Tag Carrera watches but would like some suggestions from people in the know,I am not adverse to buying preowned & have been trawling watchfinder for ideas.

Cheers Lewis.

Dominic Hackett has a new Moonwatch a bit cheaper than that.

Another speedy vote here. Otherwise a Tudor Black Bay gets my money, possibly a pelagos but I’m not as much of a fan

Another vote for the Speedmaster. Classic, iconic, dresses up or down to suit the occasion with nothing more than a strap change.

Allegedly one of the world's most loved watches and it's easy to see why.

There are versions of the Speedmaster with date complications.

Sticking to the Omega theme, the 2254 is a fine watch that I absolutely love...

I would go with Omega, Speedmaster or Seamaster depending on personal taste.

Go and try a few on. Seamaster, Speedmaster, Black Bay, Carrera, Monaco etc.

Watches are a personal thing, buy the one you like. Plus you’ll have a nice day out trying them on.

Buy something YOU like and that fits your needs. No point in buying a 1000 metre diver if you don't intend to go near water or if you wear a suit and need it to fit under a cuff etc.

Don't get suckered into Brands either, do you homework and be sure that when you have made a shortlist try them on for size. Pretty pointless buying a Paneria if you have very small wrists etc.

Happy hunting

I have a Tudor Black Bay Bronze and provided you don't mind the 43mm case, it's a cracking watch that looks a bit different from the normal Tags, Omegas, Breitlings that people gravitate towards. Tudor Black Bay 58 is also worth checking out too but getting one is a bit tricky at the moment.

If you want something unique, worth looking at Sinn watches. I have just purchased a Sinn 103 sa B E.

If you're of a nautical bent, Sinn has a rather dashing piece with tide bezel: 240 st GZ

What a load of rubbish.

Yes I bet everyone on this thread goes diving in their watches.

Also.. don't get suckered into brands? If that is true, then just go and buy a $10 Casio... tells the times doesn't it?
