Hi everyone.
Im thinking of getting a new watch and iv been lusting a Tudor for a while.
Im still not 100% sure on what one. But whats everyones view on the tudor bucherer ? Would it be a wise purchase or would idi be better off getting a GMT ?

Two highly contrasting designs. I'd normally say try them both and get what tickles your fancy more, though with the GMT that makes trying a bit more difficult I believe, as they're currently hard to come by, I believe.Im thinking of getting a new watch and iv been lusting a Tudor for a while.

If the query is more residuals based, I'm sure the GMT will settle down longterm so I don't think there will be much between them as a wise purchase.
I have had both the regular BB Bronze and the GMT... I still have the BBB and don't see that changing; in many ways it's my preferred go to. The GMT just seemed like it was trying too hard however (although very nicely made nonetheless).
The Bucherer BBB will have more of a long-term cachet I think so no-brainer if you find one at a sensible price.

Pupp, how are you finding the bronze ageing?
I really fancied one but one was never available in a shop when it was convinient to get, recently i saw a used one which imho had aged dreadfully and way more than i would of expected. All shine had gone and was pretty much black in some areas.

It has gone pretty dark now; seems to be a characteristic of the particular bronze alloy Tudor use that it does not develop the green patina other more volatile bronzes do (ie Panerai)… As new, I thought it was far too shiny so I like the aged look but I might give it a light rub with a cap cod cloth and see how it responds, just out of interest.I really fancied one but one was never available in a shop when it was convinient to get, recently i saw a used one which imho had aged dreadfully and way more than i would of expected. A quick look on Ebay seems to indicate others are not keen on the aging either; there's quite a few on there at good prices.
I really like the Bucherer bronze edition.. Much prefer it to the standard bronze/brown version. The blue/bronze contrast really appeals to me and I love that strap. Versus a Tudor GMT I'd go for the Bucherer but I already have a Rolex GMT (and a Pepsi on order) so I'm probably not best placed to answer.
The Harrods Black Bay is another one to consider if you are thinking of the rarer Tudor models.

I quite like the harrods one. But again its hard to find. they are filtering back to store. But wait list is high. The Harrods Black Bay is another one to consider if you are thinking of the rarer Tudor models.
Spoke to harrods 2 years.
Think I might wait and see what Basel world holds

Just my opinion but I find the BBB a bit of a big unwieldy lump-it wears much larger than its 43mm and has a slightly uncomfortable, top heavy feel to it.
(By comparison, my daily is a Sea Dweller 43mm)
Agreed - I read THIS article comparing the heritage with a no date sub (interesting read IMO) and I’ve pinched the image below to show how ‘slab sided’ the Tudor is in comparison to the Rolex, which is already a chunky watch in ceramic guise. (Admittedly I don’t know if there’s a profile difference between the bronze above and black below)(By comparison, my daily is a Sea Dweller 43mm)

Still, the bronze blue is a chuffing good looking watch!
I think that is one hell of an ugly watch. The huge, squared-off hour hand seems to dominate the design and I can’t see any finesse anywhere else. And then there’s the strap... Unless you’re a massive fan of Bronze, then I really don’t get it. But, I suppose I feel that way about most Tudor watches.
But, that old adage of ‘if we all liked the same things’ applies as usual...
