I got an unexpected phone call from the local Rolex dealer this morning asking if I still wanted a Hulk. I was there in a flash. I’ve been on the hunt for about 2 months and was expecting to wait for ages to get one of these. I’m a lucky boy.

An AD with no waiting (or other sort of) list? Surely not. I guess you have some sort of history with them...?

Care to share the location?

I have been on a waiting list for over a year and when I last checked there was still 30 people above me on the list.

I’ve been a customer for about 30 years. It’s Ben Bridge in Bellevue WA, USA.
The call was totally unexpected and I’m still in shock that I got the watch. This was a 50th birthday present for me but it’s now also a Christmas present.

Sorry to hear of the long wait, that’s what I was expecting. Every dealer I visited just laughed when I said I wanted a Hulk for my birthday in January quoting that they hadn’t seen one for 4 months etc. I called every dealer in NW America from california even into Vancouver Canada.
I was obviously on Santa’s good list for a change. I hope you source one soon.

The whole thing about waiting lists and having to build a relationship with the AD (translated into buying their less desirable st) is just the biggest con of all time.

You then hear AD's are worried that people will buy a watch just to flip it to the 2nd hand market but them (Rolex) with holding supply is the reason why the 2nd hand market is so buoyant and often costs more to source a 2nd hand than it does new.

Since earning a decent living I have wanted a Rolex but with those tactics, no thanks.

Holding supply? I thought they were quite simply selling almost every SS sports watch they make.
