Well
You spend ten minutes on eBay and your hooked aren’t you?
Current fleet is the Apple Watch and am Armani one my wife bought me a couple of years ago.
I quite like both of them, but wanted something that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I lost.
So after thumbing through Argos, rubbish I hit upon the idea of buying something that looked like my dads watch.
(A zodiac one from the 60s in the safe but I know it’s of no value)
But hadn’t got the huge sentimental value while because he isn’t with us anymore.
So after looking on the auction sites and setting myself a limit of 50gbp thought I’d see what I could get.
In the end I found this.
Fully aware of its nil interest in an elitist forum, but to me it’s great
Infact it’s liberating, knowing that if I damage it, it’s not the end of the world.
In some ways it’s like my Daughters Peugeot 107.
Worth nothing, but when I need a little errand or somewhere to nip to my wife’s suv and my firms van are too much of a faff.
I pinch her keys and shoot off in that.
Anyway, find attached my little gift to myself.
Ps a new leather brown strap is on the way.

Cheers fellas.
I have to wear the others
Because I didn’t purchase them!
Don’t mind the Armani one, but I know it’s just a fashion piece.
Senior management works in retail and the staff discount she got made it daft not to get it.
It’s a very addictive hobby though,
I like the idea of wearing it, and it’s probably got a story to tell.
Or at least I’d like to think it has.
By now I would be thumbing though an instruction book for an anonymous Casio watch trying to work out if I’m setting the month or the date.

Yup, that's where it starts. "Look at this lovely bargain vintage watch I've grabbed for next to nothing". Next it'll be "But if I just spend a little bit more...." Then you'll be importing hard to find models from Argentina and Japan, and new-old-stock straps from Saudi Arabia. Suddenly you've got a half dozen 45 year old watches and only one wrist to put them on.
Guess how I know?
Don't, whatever you do, check out the "Under £200 watch" thread.
