My Breguet Marine Big Date has kept very accurate time since I bought it (used) in 2015. However - I started wearing it again a couple of weeks ago, and it's now running very fast - it will gain 5 minutes in as many days.

I guess it needs servicing - any recommendations? I guess I can go to the Breguet store in London, but would rather avoid going all the way into London if I can.

Also - anybody know approximate cost? I'm guessing it's going to upset me quite a lot...

ETA : Seems I may not need a service - the Breguet place in London said it may simply be magnetised - and they would de-magnetise it for free if that's the case.
I knew there was a thread on here recently about a watch getting magentised but hadn't read it - just had a look, and it seems I need to order the de-magnetiser tool from Amazon (or go up to London for the day).

For info - if my watch does need servicing - they would charge £595 (which I assume is + VAT).

Nice watch and that price doesn’t seem too bad when you consider I think Rolex would charge me £700 for servicing a Sea Dweller.

I went for lunch with a guy who had a rose gold Breguet Big Date Marine and I must admit I’m now wondering whether my original plan of getting a Ulysse Nardin should be scuppered for a Breguet. They are a very classy watch.

No, no, no. Blue! (Which mine is, obviously) although you can't get blue new, and even used it wasn't easy!

So, just to conclude the original post :

I ordered one of the £9.99 demagnetisers from Amazon, which arrived yesterday. It really is the cheapest looking piece of blue plastic tat you've ever seen - but it worked.
The watch was gaining 55s in 24 hours. 18 hours after using the demagnitiser, it's still dead on time;

I've realised why it happened - I moved where I keep the watch winder a few weeks ago - and realised last night I placed it next to a small bluetooth speaker - which I've now moved. Unfortunately, that means my Daytona is probably magnetised now too - although that never kept time as well as the Breguet, so it might have improved! If not, at least it's easily fixed.

I have the same watch - and Breguet on Bond Street is where I go for a service... and where I bought it.

That is the one a friend had John. Albeit rose gold. Lovely. The Ulysse Nardin is an itch I’ve had for a while but the Breguet is a strong calling too, I love the brand and heritage and the unique aspect of them. Mind you, I’ve only ever seen one person with a UN in the wild (a Freak). UN are sold by WoS so I can get one ordered to T5 and save 20% which is attractive. Would love a tourbillon in either brand but I can’t stretch to that.

I think this should just become a Breguet appreciation thread. Mine, bought with the advice and help of many on this forum, including the knowledgeable, and all-round excellent fellow, NDA.

Lovely looking watch Harry - a keeper (as you know) and a family heirloom.

Breguet stand head and shoulders above most watch brands - stunning watches.
