Rusty Omega Seamaster diver 300
Discussion
Sent my watch in for a new battery and the report comes back saying a full service is needed because of internal oxydation and minor external damage.
The damage I can understand but not the oxydation,it’s supposed to be waterproof and any work on it has been done by Omega.
Anybody got any ideas why or is it a job inflation that is very difficult to argue against or prove?

Seals dry up and leak, case-back gasket slowly decays, condensation occurs, lube dries up or spreads itself around in a paste of worn metal, case damage opens up tiny gaps.
Even the gold plated auto movements suffer over time.
Maybe you could ask for photos.
