My 16 yr old son bought this beautiful Emporio Armani watch when he was on holiday in Mallorca. It has a lovely colour and the sub dials are a really nice complication.

Unfortunately it stopped working, so he pestered me to have a look at it.

I dug out my Burgeon case back opener but found that the back popped off quite easily by just using my fingernail. I think this is a very good design as it makes maintenance so much easier.
This is what the movement looks like:

It's incredible how they have managed to fit such a small movement into a watch and it shows the skill of a master watchmaker.. I also noticed that the pushers (which work beautifully by the way) don't actually connect to the movement. This is brilliant! One can press the pushers to ones hearts content and it won't create unnecessary wear on the movement. Its quite extraordinary, the thought that has gone into this watch. I tried to dissuade my son from spending the £25 euros on this watch but I am now glad that he did. Unfortunately a battery replacement has failed to get the watch working again so I am searching for an AD who can help.

I can see why he was so keen to pull the trigger.

Does it come with box and papers?

May I suggest that he puts it on a NATO for the summer.

Looks like a nice, daily beater.

Wear in good health.

Not surprised it stopped working. They're a fashion brand. As cheap and cheerful as chips, & with a similar life expectancy.

At least it's right twice a day.

I am caretaker to a "Rolex" of similar quality purchased many years ago from an authorised looky-looky man for less than €2 and I hope to pass it on to one of my children when I kick the bucket.

I passed up the deal of my life in Majorca a few years back.
I was offered a Rolex datejust for around €40. When I advised the kind hearted salesman (who to save on overheads carried his full stock to the beach) that I was already wearing one, he asked if I’d like to trade mine for both the datejust and a submariner! He was astounded I didn’t take the deal - “but sir, it’s TWO Watches!”
Having now seen the prices on Subs rocket, I’m kicking myself. You live and learn.

Emporio Armani??

He could have done much better than that.

My son got a Patek Phillippe for the same sort of money.

It stopped and the hands fell off before he got it home. I don't know what all the fuss is about PP. The quality is rubbish.

I have a brain.

And a sense of humour.

Even if it doesn’t always chime with that of others.

I can also parse and construct paragraphs in everyday life.

This is sarcasm.

I took this opportunity to get the "Rolex" out of safekeeping and take some pictures.
I'm sure aficionados such as yourselves can appreciate the subtle and elegant qualities of such a high class timepiece.
The movement in particular is a thing of beauty.

I am a truly lucky man.

I think if you give it a light to 'quite heavy' tap with a mallet, you may find that it starts running again.

There are such fine tolerances with these heavily engineered toblerone movements - they do go out of whack when moving them to the UK where the atmospheric pressure is slightly different.

Eddie, who is on here, has a blowtorch.

I thought: great, some more hate on a fashion brand.

Didn't know they faked them though, I generally think of them of ~150 GBP watches, seems odd to fake them?
I like their overall quality (of the real ones) tbh, don't know about their movements but I can imagine a Quartz Emporio Armani appeals to many, like a diesel Audi A4 would.
I generally would advise to look at Fossil as it's the same brand with sometimes the same watches, but less markup for the brand name.
