I am looking to buy my Mum a watch for birthday, she is not a massive watch person but she always wears one. She has worn my Dads since he passed but they are all finished now for one reason or another so...

Under £200, a strap would be ideal, clean face with date so easy to read, nice looks, can be quartz, in fact, in this case it may be better even though I am not a fan, it's not for me though right!

Any ideas appreciated, she is in her twilight years btw but active.

Thanks!

Can't she carry on wearing one of your dad's watches? Get one repaired if that's what the issue is?

Either that or something with a strap that matches her handbag. Definitely quartz, how about a Citizen solar?

I've spoken to my mum about using a mechanical watch and fountain pens recently and you'd think I'd suggested getting a black and white TV or something hehe

Sadly not as they have just worn out now, they were nothing special to be fair, just mementos' , She has one of my old Heuer's but rarely wears it now so I thought it would be nice to gift her a new watch.

I will look at you recommendation, thanks smile

Tissot has some nice examples under £200. Much under rated brand.

Could you not get one of them repaired for her? Might be a nice surprise.

I don't think so.one has an integrated mesh strap which is finished, one would need a new movement so it's a new one.

Radley London watches, under £200, pretty fun and come with a little dog thing. I got one for my mum as she wanted big numbers on a smallish watch face and she loves it.

Some Tissot, Seiko or Orient Bambino would be my go-to at that price point.

Second this, I bought a really nice Tissot with a plain face on a black strap for my mothers 60th. She loves it and wears it every day.

She loves the design and the brand satisfies my watch geekiness.
