It certainly was in the early days, those ones with primary coloured multiple time zones just had 5 quartz movements. I think standards may have improved now?

No doubt an amazing feat of engineering / haute horology / even art... but you'd look a right knobber turning up to the Kings Arms in a Friday night wearing one these:

Can't see them mentioned without a mental image of Producer Michael appearing.

I've just had a look at the Jacob website... Jebus and the Holy Virgins!

Who would buy one of these things - hideous.

The 'Godfather' watch probably takes the biscuit at $270,000.

Fair enough to him, though. He's not a forex scammer trying to trick people into believing he's something he isn't.

I remember Jacob & Co from the late 90's with those huge 47mm world time pieces that the rappers (and local drug dealers) proudly wore.

Whilst I can't afford nor am I attracted to their latest offerings, you can't help be amazed by them. Some of the complications are mind boggling, and they always seem to have fun with it. I mean, who would make a mechanical watch that can chime the Godfather theme tune? And the Astronomica Maestro, inside which is an orbiting miniature astronaut, as well as being a triple axis tourbillon, moon phase, date and a minute repeater. Bonkers.

Jacob the Jeweler has some interesting friends.

Wiki said:
In June 2006, Arabo was arrested on charges of money laundering and conspiracy in connection with the Detroit-based Black Mafia Family, as well as for not declaring large cash purchases to the IRS. In October 2007, after admitting to lying to investigators, Arabo and his attorney, Ben Brafman, entered a plea in which the more serious charges of money-laundering were dropped.[3] In June 2008, Arabo was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, fined $50,000, and ordered to forfeit $2 million to the U.S. government. Arabo was released from jail in April 2010.

It's not a three axis tourbillon though. It's a two axis tourbillon on a carousel. I wouldn't want to one, imagine the conversation in the Wellington Arms...

"That another new watch Mike? Giz a look.
"Hey look lads, 'e's bought one of them pretend three axis tourbillons. C'mon Mike, you should know that's a two axis tourby mounted in a carousel. Wassa matter, couldn't ya even afford a real three axis tourby?"
"Oh yeah, that's junk that.Still, 'e'll 'ave plenty of change from buyin' that tat, so 'e can get the next round!"

hehe

I think I'd struggle to find a pub round here where I could find one person who knew about tourbillons.

I think they look really interesting but usually vulgar and hideous.

It must be fantastic working there, designing this stuff. You come up with some new overly complicated, complication and you’ll be asked to make it look a bit more over the top, and maybe add more diamonds and planets or a dragon or an octopus.

An ex of mine had one of the early blinged up multi coloured face ones. She lived in Brentwood and had lots of pink furniture in her bedroom. I liked it but, in my defence, I was young and dumb and also liked her biggrin

Didn’t mention the 2 years in chokey Jacob did after being done for Black Mafia money laundering...

I do like the look of the Epic X (price not withstanding)

I do enjoy his vids though.
