I hope someone here might be able to help, please. (I've tried using the search function but to no avail.) I inherited a plain stainless steel Eternamatic Centenarie without the calendar function from my father a few years ago (which I believe to be from the late fifties or early sixties).

I don't imagine that it is especially valuable, not least as it spent much of its life in Kenya so the face is a bit sun bleached. I don't use it but do want to get it serviced and cleaned so I can pass it on to my son.

Is there an Eterna specialist in the UK that anybody would recommend, or should I send it back to the makers in Switzerland? Thanks in advance.

You could try contacting Jura, whom I believe are a UK authorised sealer for Eterna. They should be able to handle dealing with Eterna Switzerland for you.

Alternatively, you can always go directly to Eterna Switzerland yourself.

thumbup I like Eterna a lot: superb watches, with a great history and responsible for giving rise to ETA.

.I've had one quite a few years, lovely, period , automatic watch. Mine's missing the second hand, but i's never bothered me. I think they were the first full rotating automatic watch (instead of bumper winding).
There's quite a bit of info out there with a bit of googling. I'm not sure going to a modern Eterna dealer will be any better than just going to any competent watch maker.

Thank you. I happen to be passing their HQ in a few weeks’ time....

Thanks for the advice. The only issue I guess that a specialist could address is a replacement face as the original (?linen style) is faded and spotted by the sun, but that would, of coyrse, destroy the patina.

BTW the picture shows the exact watch that I have.

I doubt they'll be able to replace the dial after so long. Best bet would be to break up another watch for the dial or get it refinished.
