60s Seamaster 300 big triangle
Discussion
I've been doing a bit of reading online and it would appear the watch has been fitted with some later model parts. Case is 1964. Bezel would appear to be 1969-1971. Batton option hands and a genuine dial. Service replacement items potentially as the last owner had it nearly 30 years.
Further update after running it for a few hours..... / reading for a few hours.
1963 movement. Appears to run absolutely fine.
Crystal: wrong size and not branded. Would appear to have been glued in. Tell tale sign was the appearance of condensation on the inside of the lens after cleaning it up. Looks like I'll be eBaying on Monday to get a new one. Luckily there are a few still in stock.
Otherwise it seems to check out. The bezel may well have been the original as they didn't fit the trim immediately. Some watches sat for up to a few years before being assembled. Same as other watch manufacturers I guess.
Interesting little watch.
