Just bought myself an AquaRacer
Discussion
Further to my post the other week that caused something of a stir (unintentionally!), I've gone and bought myself a Tag Heuer AquaRacer
It wasn't actually what I went in to buy (!) but when I saw it, I thought it was lovely. I looked at the Calibre 16 too, but imho the face was a little too "busy".
Really happy with it too!
Any way, next watch later this year will be a SpeedMaster

Thanks: yes it is a slippery slope tbh.
I've already got a Citizen Eco Drive Perpetual (daily) and a vintage Seiko Kinetic Arctura (something a little different but relatively rare)
I had a bad experience leading up to this purchase with a Tissot. Suffice to say that the customer experience was so bad that I won't be buy any of their models any time soon.
So I wanted to rejuvenate my habit with something special (to me anyway), and this fits the bill perfectly.
I'm already eyeing up something for around Christmas time - Omega SpeedMaster Pro......

The official Power Reserve is 38 hours from a full wind.
But due to various factors it might be a little shorter or longer. I’ve had movements like that run for 40 hours.
Just wearing an automatic on wrist is not always enough to generate a full wind - it depends upon how active the wearer is & how many hours a day it’s worn.
You can always top-up the power reserve to ensure it runs longer off your wrist by hand-winding using the crown, but it’s best not to do that to a large extent daily (wears both the movement and risks the screw-down crown thread too).
Lovely watch, by the way. On a whim I bought a 2008 TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph a few weeks back myself. Wanted something with both timing bezel & chronograph functions that I could wear casually.
At the price point & buying smartly with discount, it’s hard to go wrong with an Aquaracer or Carrera as dependable, good-looking, solid, versatile watches. Enjoy.
