Good evening all. I hope I’m not embarrassing myself asking this question.

I have had my automatic Seamaster for what must be 12 years. It’s been back to Omega once for a service.

I wear it everywhere, all day, unless I’m going somewhere iffy, think Paris, Rome. It’s been swimming in the Caribbean, skydiving in Mauritius. I know you shouldn’t wear it in the sauna, but what about running? I am half way through the couch to 5k, and it’s just clicked that I take it off before I go out. No idea why. So a simple question. Am I good to run, which will be upto the 5k wearing my watch? I’m just thinking of shock. But saying that my arms seem to have a mind of their own when running. Think Mr. Tickle

It won't do the movement any harm, I used to play golf wearing my Broad Arrow. However, I don't anymore as it got in the way of my wrist movement during the swing.

TBH, I don't miss not having the weight there. I now just wear a G-Shock for my Sport Activities... Golf, Cycling, Badminton.

Ah! I thought you wanted to get the Watch Oil changed after the first few months of purchase.
Your title reads both ways!

Speaking as a runner rather than a watch person, why would you want to run with a heavy watch on? It will irritate you, it will be dripping with sweat and is of no interest to you while running. Get a proper running watch, then you can start to time your run, if you figure out where the miles (or kilometers) are you can time you splits etc.

I never take a watch over 20,000bph until it's run in for at least 100 hours. smile

I misunderstood the thread title and thought you were asking if you need to ''run in'' your new watch as you'd need to ''run in'' a new engine.

Just taken it for a spin. It’s honestly not (at least feels) that heavy. It’s just I never take it off for any other reason

I can’t remember where I read it, but last week I read a thread where the guys automatic watch was losing when he wore it to run.

If you carry on running no doubt you will replace it with the now obligatory Garmin anyway😜

I did the whole of the Devizes to Westminster canoe race with mine on. 5k ought to be alright!

Missing you on the football threads.

Your insightful views would've been interesting this week.

Before I ran regularly, I used to run in my Speedmaster automatic. It did the London Marathon in 2014 and by chance is the watch I'm wearing right now.

Don't worry about it.

A running watch is better though.
