Lovely brand, their Bambino is a nice dress watch, their Orient Star ´upscale´ luxury brand makes some lovely watches too.

Decent dive watches, in-house movements etc.

The logo is weird but all the rest is good!

Are Orient replica watches? They are owned by Seiko

I think he meant homages, rather than replicas.

Orient are not "homages" either.

Proper watches in their own right.

As I understand it, they are owned by Seiko Epsom, but Seiko Watches has nothing to do with Seiko Epsom.

Something weird like that, anyway.

Had an orient Bambino and an orient Ray dive watch.

Bambino was absolutely lovely and had a nice grey sunburst dial which made the watch feel a lot more special than it was. Dropped it going through security on holiday and it stopped working. Wasn't worth enough to pay for a repair and ended up getting rid for £20 as spares or repairs.

The Ray was also a lovely watch. The feel and weight of it rivalled a lot of more expensive watches. Was a lovely stop gap until I bought my Tudor Black Bay. After that the Ray never got the wrist time and I ended up gifting it to my nephew. What I would say is that my Ray ran fast and required the time setting every 2-3 days. Never got to the bottom of it.

Thanks. I am aware of Orient. I was confused by the thread title which suggests they make replica or homage watches.

To the OP. You don't say how much you are willing to spend. Orient make superb watches and are better quality than Seiko in my opinion. If you are looking for a quality homage watch then you might want to look at Steinhart. They do excellent versions of some of the Rolex models and are very well made for the price. Swiss made and a well regarded brand.. Pagini and Parnis make nice Rolex copies for a lot less. They are reasonable quality for the price but I wouldn't trust the given water ratings. They also tend to be quartz.

I’ve just bought a Bambino v2 as I don’t have an “old fashioned” dress watch. The original strap is really smart, better than my other dress watch, a £2k Nomos, I think it’s absolutely lovely and a really nice change from desk divers

Better than Seiko 5 maybe, but not Seiko

Fantastic watches all the same

My Orient Kamasu is definitely a step up from my Seiko SKX007. But I suppose it's down to personal opinion! I can't comment on the difference in quality between a Bambino and a Pressage as I unfortunately have neither.

I also adore my green Orient Kamasu, ends up getting more wear than my submariner.

Seiko must have thought Orient were pretty good or they wouldn't have bought the company in 2009.

I have often seen the Pagani Design watches on AliExpress. I think their version of the Seiko Presage looks nice for £50, though it has nowhere near the same level of dial detail.

I’m not disputing that, but they definitely make some homages.

Ah such a lovely version / dial of Bambino. Been eyeing it up on and off for ages. Think I've convinced myself I really don't need it. One thing which did annoy me about my old Bambino was that it's 21mm lug width. Ended up butchering a couple of 22mm straps with a razor to make fit.
