Salts Coventry (lighter repair)
Discussion
Morning all,
Ok, I know a lighter isn’t a watch, but this part of the forum is as close as I’ll get.
Has anyone used Salts of Coventry for any repair / service work for a lighter before? If so, what were your thoughts?
I have an old Dunhill lift-top and an old Ronson Varaflame that require a service and a polish, so I am after a few recommendations for this task.
In advance, many thanks.

Hi,
I had my Dunhill Rollagas serviced by Alan Beardow who seems to be the 'go to' expert on Rollagas. Not sure if he does other makes or the petrol Dunhills.

Salts quoted £99 inc VAT. In your experience does this sound a reasonable price?
The Rollagas 'full strip service' was £30 plus £3.50 for return postage a couple of years ago.
Edit to add: he does a replating service as well. Best to have a chat with him about exactly what you need to make a proper comparison with Salts.

Interesting to know, and those prices are a lot better value than what I’ve been quoted so far.Edit to add: he does a replating service as well. Best to have a chat with him about exactly what you need to make a proper comparison with Salts.
