Does anyone know what I have got here? They belonged to my late dad and haven’t seen the light of day for probably 40 years also do they have any value, the pendulum is broken at the top can this be repaired ?
Would the metal door have been from a clock as it was always stored with the 2 movements.
Thanks in advance.[url]

First one is a fusee movement, probably from an English dial or drop dial wall clock.
It is currently fully wound up (chain wound completely onto the fusee cone), so if it doesn't tick, there's a problem with it.

It's a decent movement, and somebody will buy it if you put it on eBay.
Not worth a huge amount though, as you can buy complete English dial clocks at auction for a couple of hundred these days.

Second one looks like a timer of some kind?
Or maybe the movement from a gallery clock - the kind of thing that you find facing out from the balcony of an old chapel or auditorium. The small dial is used to set the time from the back when you go upstairs to wind it. What does the other side of it look like? Does if have anywhere to fit a pair of hands?

The door doesn't look like anything I've seen on a clock, but I suppose it could be the access door for the gallery clock (if that's what it is).

Thank you for the reply the other side has a long spindle, the fusee doesn’t tick so must have a problem? Would it tick without a pendulum fitted ?
What sort of age are they? I will eBay them but would like to list them as accurately as possible
Many thanks

The fusee one should tick if you move the crutch side to side, and might keep ticking if you lift up one side slightly.
Probably 1930's at a guess.

The smaller one has the cannon pinion and hour wheel missing - the bits that the hands fit onto. Might be useful to someone as spares if the platform (balance wheel part) is good.
Probably similar age, maybe a bit later or earlier
