Does anyone "double wrist"?
Discussion
I've been looking for a minimalist fitness tracker to wear on my right wrist, as the left is obviously taken up by traditional watches.
Will be using it to track general activity, heart rate, work outs, cycling etc.
Have had a fitbit in the past, but not keen on current smaller devices, and had looked at the garmin vivosmart 4, but it's quite dated now and suspect it might be due for a refresh.
This has got me thinking about an apple watch, and whether I could get away with wearing one on my right wrist and therefore "double wristing"!
Does anyone here do it? If an absolute no no, any alternatives to consider as a tracker?
Thanks

Noticed in his latest vid Harry Metcalfe was double wristing.
I've done it before when travelling because its easier than packing watches away and on the odd occasion I've felt like wearing something nice along with my Apple watch on the right wrist.
Think it will become fairly common in years to come as tech takes over.

Yeah, I've done it. Not so bad in winter when it's hidden under a shirt sleeve, but hate it in summer.
Basic fitness tracker wasn't so bad, but that became a Vivo Active, which became a Fenix... so it's two decent sized watches on each wrist.
Has to be a market for people who want to wear a traditional watch on one wrist and a discreet band on the other with all the fancy sensors, but access the data only via an app.
In terms of Apple watches, I have seen straps that allow the mechanical watch to sit in the usual place, and the Apple watch where the clasp would usually sit. I'll have a google.

I currently wear traditional watch on left wrist.
Right wrist has a fitbit Alta HR on it which is as discreet as I can find.
I have no use for reading texts or phonecalls on my wrist, however I do like to record my heartbeat and steps on something attached to me rather than my mobile that I leave laying around, nor do I need to know the time.
Fitbit don't do anything more discreet, neither do Garmin.
I considered a ring but the one that did both heartbeat and steps has been discontinued / bought out / no longer available. The one that is still available doesn't do heartbeat.
A whoop band would be perfect but it's overkill for what I want, and I don't want to pay a monthly subscription for it.
So yes definitely a market out there for a discreet, small, wearable that monitors health / fitness / steps / sleep / heartbeat etc.

Garmins have a "physio true up" so you sync before swapping devices and it ensures it doesn't double count. I still have my old Vivosport (which is about as small and discreet as I can find) but doesn't have the more fancy / recent features. Still, means I can "double wrist" without looking like Flavor Flav and count my steps and HR.Sony Wena as an option? It's a smart strap, so can sit under your proper watch and do the fitness monitoring without having to double wrist.
There's a thrid generation of it out now I think, including leather straps as it's all in the buckle. Surprised the concept isn't better represented to be honest, seems ideal, athough perhaps part of the appeal of a fitness tracker is to ensure other people can see how healthy you are

Ooh now yes that'd be perfect-ish. Pricey but much more discreet There's a thrid generation of it out now I think, including leather straps as it's all in the buckle. Similar to myself; "proper watch" on my left wrist and a Huawai Band 4 Pro on my right wrist which measures sleep, steps, heart rate and also has GPS, I think it is slightly larger than your Fitbit but it is still reasonably discreet plus on the same wrist I have a couple of rope bracelets so it just blends in with them. I'd feel a bit self conscious if I had a full on Garmin type thing though, instead of the Band.
Buzz aldrin triples, so do what you want. Triple Omegas or more recently 2 omegas on 1 bracelet and an apple watch.

I am disappointed that a tech company hasn't come out with a smart bracelet option.
Also on a side note, runner this year will be moving away from watches and be moving too chest straps and shoe attachments as technology moves on.

I use the chest strap with my Garmin when running , had the shoe attachments over 10 years ago paired to my iphone4 https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/buzz-aldrin-rock...

Nah the new stuff does - chest strap - oxygen level, ECG level accuracy heart rate, vertical and horizontal core oscillation and the shoe attachments are insoles that do gait, cadence, power, stride, balance, pronation, strike.
All real time, with real time feedback to correct form
Good to see I'm not alone with this then, even if some don't feel comfortable doing full double!
I'm really surprised that nobody does a discrete band, without a display, the data from which can all just be accessed via your phone. I'd pay a premium for exactly that.
I've looked in to the whoop too, but been put off by a subscription (appreciating that contradicts what I say above!).
Seems that for the time being it's an alta hr/vivosmart 4 if I can find one in decent condition, or go all out and get the Apple Watch series 6 in 40mm.

Agree. "Back in the day" of 2014 it was the Jawbone Up and I would wear it now but apparently the company went into liquidation and so it shows that maybe we are in the minority of wanting a screenless smart tech device.I'm really surprised that nobody does a discrete band, without a display, the data from which can all just be accessed via your phone. Yes, I noticed this too. I don't think he's double bagging though. If he had done, maybe he wouldn't have spilled cognac all over the boot of the loan car he had. Can't remember which one it was, I think it was the new entry level 911. witten said:

Just been reading about the Amazon Halo, but seems to be US only for the time being. witten said:

Looks like the right sort of thing so I shall watch that with interestDoes seem to be a subscription model in the states at 4$ / mobth but you retain basic functionality even without it.
Yup... Come on Amazon bring us Halo!

t, but proudly so. Also too much of a PBCD to laugh at.
