Explain to me the reason for the price!

I just watched the first few watches sell on this new site from the Collecting Cars lot.
Is this crazy money??

Little bit more than supply and demand.
The 5711 has for a while now been the peak in terms of the hot Watch mountain.
They’ve been double retail for a used model for some time and then Patek discontinued the model. This sent them in to outer space price wise.
So it’s not hugely surprising that a factory sealed version is commanding that price. Patek dealers aren’t allowed to sell them like that which makes it rarer still.
My guess is it won’t get used and will stay boxed and in a safety deposit box.
