Breitling discount UK?
Discussion
Hello PH'ers,
Long time no post, hope everyone is well.
I am wondering if I can ask the forum for some ideas of expected discount on a brand new Breitling?
It will be my first foray into a new brand, I am under the impression 15-20% should be doable but was keen to see if any more up to date information existed?
I am specifically interested in the 42mm Chronomat which I think is an amazing looking chrono and will be a nice addition.
Many thanks!

I got 15% off my 46mm Heritage 2 at WOS.
I did use the price match, found an online store that also had a physical store which was cheaper, WOS matched it. I was happy with the price.

Hmmm, I think I'd fail to do this based on the terms of their price match, looks like the online ones selling it cheaper are online only grey market dealers.
Will keep looking!
Cheers.
You won't find a Breitling AD (or any other Swiss brand) openly advertising any discounts, in fact they would likely lose their franchise if they did.
Have a look on Swiss Watches Direct website - www.swisswatchesdirect.co.uk/ - they are an established UK grey dealer.
What I've tended to do is use their price to barter down the AD and buy from them.
You'll probably have better luck with an independent Breitling dealer rather than one of the big chains.

Anywhere up for 35% I find with Breitling
I'd love to know where as I am off to look for a Superocean Heritage II tomorrow.I once got a Aerospace also with 35% of at Goldsmiths
No one ever pays full RRP on a Breitling
Not Breitling related but I got a discount on an Omega Seamaster last week at an AD but I was in the store and I had to commit to buying the watch there and then and paying for it in full rather than taking out the 0% finance. I got a little over 10% which I was happy enough with because if they had said no I would have paid full RRP anyway.
It is the latest model in the colours I wanted and I had already made my mind up it was the watch I wanted before I set foot in store, I fully admit i'm not a massive negotiator, I simply said "I know you do 0% finance but is there a better deal to be done if I buy in full via debit card" and they said "will you commit to buying today?" and I said I would and he went off to speak to the store manager and came back with the discounted price.
I wasn't interested in trying to negotiate hard or shop around dealers etc.

Hi All,
As per above post from a bit of shopping around watches world was the best price I found. I hope I am not breaching any forum rules by name dropping them (I assure you I have no affiliation whatsoever!) but circa 30% off. I exchanged messages with them about availability etc and the price is as per their website which is way lower than anywhere else.
As it happens I tried the watch on the other day and didn't love it so it may be in vain but hopefully this helps anyone else in the market.

You need to line two approved dealers and be prepared to pay there and then. Go into one, check the watch, and ask for their best price today. Counter offer and see what they say. Mark up on Luxury watches is large, so you should get more off. If it all fails, go and buy from the second dealer.
Overall, you MUST be prepared to walk out the shop and go elsewhere. It's no good if your just going to cave in.
You can do it on anything as well. I got a good discount when I asked for some money off a plasma TV. When they said no, I just said there was an equally good TV next door and I'd go and buy that instead, cue 10% discount there and then. Got some cables and stuff thrown in as well. With consumer goods you can also get other things thrown into a deal.... From Curry's I got a hitachi 32" plasma TV worth 3k back in 1998/9 asked for a discount and when the said no I asked for some other goods instead and got a dishwasher and fridge thrown in as well.
You just need some kneck and bravado and be prepared to walk away, You can always buy somewhere at full retail price!
