Two-for-one, that is.
I have plenty of dive watches, and no need for dress watches, so I'm looking at 'sports-dress' now.
I've got a Bremont Supermarine that I rarely wear, and is probably worth £2.5k. So I'm thinking of geting rid, and replacing it with a Formex Essence 39 and one of the new Christopher Ward C63 GMTs (despite what I've said about CW in the past).
Any better ideas for a toofer, or even a onefer? Cash neutral, ideally, although I'll go in either direction for the right answer.

I have a Formex Essence it’s a cracking watch with some great features but be warned about the bracelet as there is no micro adjust.
That CW does look quite nice but not looked into it
If you like the Formex you might like the Maurice Lacroix Aikon as well but the same applies to that bracelet

Looking at The Aikon is what led me to the Essence. That CW does look quite nice but not looked into it

The only problem I have with the Aikon (apart from the 'M' on the leather strap - although I'd get the bracelet anyway) is that the polished bits on the bezel look a little blingy. Arguably the Lacroix is a better name, but the Formex is COSC (for what it's worth).I tend to buy with OEM bracelets, because aftermarket leather straps are easier to find.

Agreed. It's the first one I've been really tempted by. Black face for me though, I think the white face looks just too close to a certain other GMT...
I agree, but I need to introduce something other than black to my watch box. If I were to go black, I'd step up to the CW 63 Elite, which has some schmancy retractable crown thing.liner33 said:
Formex do some cool straps with their patented clasps , there is also a non cosc version of the Essence
I know what you mean about the Aikon it’s more blingy but perhaps a little more dressy as a result
I have both and to be fair if I could only keep one it would be the Aikon
That's intrresting. I was leaning toward the Formex because I thought it would be more versatile.I know what you mean about the Aikon it’s more blingy but perhaps a little more dressy as a result

Which one did you buy first?

The Aikon but I wanted a Formex from when the were released was lucky to pick up a barely used one cheaply although it had a fault it was quickly sorted under warranty by them , they are a good company to deal with. Which one did you buy first?
